Nuclear product manufacture and storage must not lead to adverse impact on the environment as well as personnel and public health. The technologies applied by MSZ JSC make it possible to provide nuclear and radiation safety of the highest level.
The company carries out radiation monitoring of pollutant contents in all environmental compartments – air, surface and underground waters, soil, vegetation and atmospheric precipitations. Environmental monitoring is carried out throughout the industrial site and within a 10-km zone in the company’s location area. Monitoring is conducted by the two laboratories with verified measuring instruments at their disposal, including spectrophotometers, photoelectric colorimeters, alpha-beta-radiometers as well as devices for monitoring motor transport vehicles.
For the purpose of improving the environmental monitoring quality as well as sanitary and hygienic work environment, MSZ JSC applies the automated radiation and chemical situation information and measurement system. It continuously measures chemicals’ and radiation concentration levels in the environment.
The company pursues the policy of maximum openness and transparency in environmental protection issues. Representatives of regulatory authorities, Russian and foreign nuclear experts, students, journalists, business community members and public officers visit MSZ JSC on a regular basis to learn about the company’s environmental conservation activities and environmental monitoring results.
The high level of the company’s environmental safety is confirmed by the certificate of compliance with ISO 14001:2015 environmental management standard, which verifies the reduction of the adverse environmental impact of production processes and rational use of finite resources.
